My name is Matt Taylor, I'm an illustrator and I live by the sea. I like drawing pictures for money, riding my bike, walking on the beach, appreciating comic books and rummaging through thrift stores for old photos. This blog is for works in progress, assorted drawings that don't have a home yet and things which don't quite fit in my folio. Speaking of which, you can see my full blown folio by directing your website towards www.matttaylor.co.uk

Another cynical attempt to capture a market more popular than whatever one I’m in now - this time, the 1950s-knockoff illustration market.

The theme of this image can be summed up as Emma Watson has a nice face.
Originally intended to be something for the old day job, but it never got used so here it is now. And it means I have something to post while I’m clearing my desk in my studio so it is suitable for working at again (as it had become something of a dumping ground for comics, books and miscellaneous rubbish).
More to come shortly!
A quick warm up sketch for today before getting down to something a little more taxing. This is drawn from the same artwork as the sketch that I used for my lino cut, but obviously it’s a little bit more refined.
Bigger version, if you want it, over on my flickr here.
If you really like it then you can buy it in a variety of sizes as a print, or adorning an iPhone case from my shop on Society6. Go, go now!
