This impossibly handsome man is Romain Duris, and he’s the star of Michel Gondry’s Mood Indigo which is out this month, and as such is the cover star of Eurostar’s Metropolitan magazine.

And I drew him, obviously (otherwise this would be an amazingly pointless blog post). If you travel on Eurostar this month, you can see it there, on in the online archive at some point this month.

The second image is an alternative color scheme that didn’t go past sketch stage, but I liked it so I worked it up for my own benefit. In retrospect it probably was way too blue.

Another round up of Stuff From My Instagram!

Here we have… abandoned sketches, editorials I forgot to blog, book cover ideas, something from a comic I’m writing and drawing, something from a comic I’m just drawing, and a work in progress of something I’m doing this week. I’ll leave it to you to figure out what’s what.

More as ever, over on my instagram

Pope! Another piece for The New Republic (i did this for them last month), and I tried to go for something bold and striking. Pretty darned happy with how it turned out too.
Fun fact, this is the second spiritual leader I have drawn this week (there’s a Dalai Lama winging it’s way to another client right now). Also drawn this week: James McAvoy, Charles Manson, a tiger and a Sopwith Camel. This job is nothing if not varied.

The theme of this image can be summed up as Emma Watson has a nice face.
Originally intended to be something for the old day job, but it never got used so here it is now. And it means I have something to post while I’m clearing my desk in my studio so it is suitable for working at again (as it had become something of a dumping ground for comics, books and miscellaneous rubbish).
More to come shortly!

A quick warm up sketch for today before getting down to something a little more taxing. This is drawn from the same artwork as the sketch that I used for my lino cut, but obviously it’s a little bit more refined.
Bigger version, if you want it, over on my flickr here.
If you really like it then you can buy it in a variety of sizes as a print, or adorning an iPhone case from my shop on Society6. Go, go now!
