My name is Matt Taylor, I'm an illustrator and I live in the country. I don't look much like that picture up there.
This blog is for things that I just finished drawing and bits and pieces that I haven't found a home for in my folio yet.
Speaking of which, you can see my full blown folio by directing your website towards www.matttaylor.co.uk
I think every illustrator has a list of dream clients. Pretty close to the top of mine was The New Yorker - so many of my favorite artists works have graced their pages. Last year whilst I was at ilovedust I was able to produce something for them - the Looper illustration above - and whilst it was a very enjoyable experience (and one that won an award!), the fact that the byline read “illustration by ilovedust’ meant that it wasn’t fully satisfying.
So I was over the moon when I was asked to do a piece for this weeks issue to accompany a review of Gravity (which, seriously, is my most anticipated picture of the fall). I’m very happy with how it turned out, and I can’t wait to see a copy in my hand.
