My name is Matt Taylor, I'm an illustrator and I live by the sea. I like drawing pictures for money, riding my bike, walking on the beach, appreciating comic books and rummaging through thrift stores for old photos. This blog is for works in progress, assorted drawings that don't have a home yet and things which don't quite fit in my folio. Speaking of which, you can see my full blown folio by directing your website towards www.matttaylor.co.uk
Narcissism ahoy!
For those of you who know what I look like, you will no doubt recognise the studious book reader in the illustration above (albeit with a slightly better hairline). For those of you who dont, well, it’s me. I was asked by the ladies and gents of Computer Arts to produce this months cover, an offer too good to turn down.
And when they said that the cover needed to show a designer-type reading a book, I thought ‘I look like a designer-type’, and there wasn’t really much i could do to NOT draw myself. So there you go. I’ve attached the first sketch and then the developed process pics, because lord knows if there’s one thing this post needs its more pictures of me.
You can find it on the shelves now in most good newsagents, and if you can fight past that cover there are the usual wealth of features, articles and general inspiration inside.
